Catherine McIlwaine

Catherine McIlwaine is the Tolkien Archivist at the Bodleian Library, Oxford, where she has worked on the Tolkien archive since 2003. She co-edited (with Richard Ovenden) The Great Tales Never End: Essays in Memory of Christopher Tolkien (2022). She is the author of Tolkien: Maker of Middle-earth (2018), which won the Tolkien Society’s Best Book Award 2019, and curated the Bodleian’s summer exhibition of the same name in 2018. She has also written Tolkien: Treasures (2018), winner of the ACE Best General Publication Award 2019.
